Horizon Europe is the large EU Framework Program for research and innovation and your company can access funding, resources, skills and network through different instruments.

Collaborative projects:
The collaborative projects support research into societal challenges. Checks the available topics to see if they are relevant for you. The consortium lead is taken by research institutions but they are a good opportunity for companies to develop their products while scaling up their network in Europe. Budget and TRLs vary.

EIC – European Innovation Council:
The EIC Pathfinder supports the earliest phases of scientific and technical research and development of future, groundbreaking, market-creating technologies. This support projects at an early stage (TRL 1-4) of development. Budget per project between 3-4 million EUR for a consortium of 3-5 partners (academic and companies).
The EIC Accelerator is a funding instrument for empowering individual start-ups/SMEs to develop and scale up breakthrough innovations. The support (TRL 6-8) consists of a grant component of up to EUR 2.5 million and an investment component in the form of equity financing or guarantees between EUR 0.5 million and EUR 10 million. Successful applicants have access to a range of Business Acceleration Services.

EIT – European Institute of Innovation and Technology:
The EIT is an independent body set up to deliver innovation across Europe. The EIT brings together leading business, education and research organisations to form dynamic cross-border partnerships. There calls cover business creation, innovation projects and specific training. These are links to small grants but importantly with opportunities to meet potential investors.
